A new kind of antenatal course…

Posted on

Antenatal classes are undoubtedly a great chance to quiz your midwife, learn more about giving birth, check out your hospital’s facilities and meet other mums-to-be, right? Of course. But, just in case you want to turn yours into a luxury weekend complete with yoga, spa treatments and delicious food…check out the new Luxury Antenatal Parenting Weekends run by expert midwife Nikki Khan. I know Nikki as a source of birthing wisdom from my work writing features for Prima Baby Magazine where she’s resident midwife. So when she told me she’d launched an antenatal course I knew it would be worth its weight in gold.

The course involves a four day, three night, weekend at The West Bay Club, Yarmouth. Workshops hosted by Nikki herself focus as much as possible on you and your pregnancy, labour and newborn days with just 10-12 other couples to ensure an intimate group. Nikki will talk you through everything from your maternity rights and benefits, to keeping fit, common complications, your birth plan, pain relief and positions during labour, looking after your newborn and breastfeeding, as well as offer one-to-one consultations. And to give yourselves time to process all that information; the course includes a pre-natal massage and £50 spa treatment as well as a group physiotherapy and yoga session. Possibly one of the most invaluable parts of the course is the chance to spend a few days in beautiful surroundings with your partner focusing on your pregnancy and all the incredible experiences you have to come.

If this all sounds quite heavenly, check out Nikki’s website for more info!
